ART’s Curriculum, Content & Intellectual Property Terms

As Authentic Relating gains popularity and more individuals offer AR events and trainings, ART International is increasingly committed to maintaining a high standard of quality and integrity in our teachings and ethics. As there have been several incidents of confusion and resulting disappointment for participants in the recent past, it is essential that our customers understand what events are ART’s and what are not.

As we support you to bring Authentic Relating to the world in your own unique way, we want to clearly define Authentic Relating Training (ART) International’s policy regarding the ART curriculum and brand, and your relationship to ART as a Level 4 participant and/or graduate.

Participating in and/or graduating from ART’s Level 4 program does not license you to lead ART Level 1, 2, 3 or 4 trainings. As a participant and/or graduate of Level 4, you must distinguish your offerings from the ART International brand, curriculum and official programs to ensure there is no risk that participants confuse your offerings with ART International’s official programs.
To be explicit about our policies regarding the use of ART’s brand, curriculum and content:

As a L4 participant and/or graduate, we invite you to:

  • Acknowledge and celebrate that you are trained by (or are certified by) ART International
    • If you have not certified please explicitly say:
      • I am a participant in ART’s Level 4 Facilitator Training program
        or I am a Facilitator-in-Training through ART’s Level 4 Program
    • If you have certified please explicitly say:
      • I am a Authentic Relating Certified Facilitator by ART International
      • Create and facilitate your own unique AR events

As a L4 participant and/or graduate, we ask that you do not:

  • Replicate ART’s curriculum (offer ART’s compilation of teachings and practices as taught in ART Level 1, 2, 3, 4 trainings.)
  • Call your trainings ART or entitle your events or trainings with language that is similar and could be confused with ART, including:
    • Authentic Relating L1/2/3/4 or Authentic Relating Training Level 1/2/3/4
    • The ART of Being Human

To honor the lineage that you are a part of, and the effort of our founders, staff, and faculty, we ask that you:

  • Credit ART International as the source of the teachings you have learned here with us
  • Credit ART International as the source of ART’s 5 Practices of Authentic Relating
  • Do not call what you are leading ART, but instead call it AR (Authentic Relating)
  • Use discernment around titles and descriptions for your events that could be confused with ART
